ONE DAY AT A TIME

ODAAT – Sometimes we just need to be still

Psalm 46:10

Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

Ecclesiastes 3 speaks about many times and seasons. There is a time and season to every purpose under the heaven.

And yes, sometimes there is a time to just be still. To be silent, to be at peace, and to know that He that searches the heart knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

Often our minds are so busy and our thoughts so distracting that we simply cannot hear the still small voice of our God. Many times we are so entrenched in our own way of seeing things or handling situations, that we fail to give Christ the reins and allow Him to lead us beside still waters and to make us lie down in green pastures.

It is in these times that He is able to restore our souls and to lead us in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. And, although it be against our fleshly nature not to try and make our way out of the valley of the shadow of death, if we just allow Jesus to lead us, He will not only comfort us but will actually prepare our way, anoint us to go in that way, and set goodness and mercy to follow us all the days of our lives, whether in the valley or on top of the hill. How Amazing!!

You see, sometimes we may just need to be still to allow the very nature and spirit of Christ in us to intercede on our behalf. Furthermore, we need to know and stand still and secure in the infallible truth that, all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose.

So today, just be still, let Christ intercede on your behalf, and know that He is God.

Romans 8:27-28
27And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Psalm 23:1-6
1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
2 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
3 A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
4 A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
5 A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
6 A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
7 A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
8 A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

Luke 12
27 Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
28 If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and to morrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith?
29 And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind.
30 For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things.
31 But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.

1 John 4:18
There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

2 Timothy 1:7
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

ODAAT – When in doubt pray

1 Thessalonians 5:17

Pray without ceasing.

Who on this earth has ever conquered death? Who on earth has ever overcome the grave? Who on earth has ever been able to withstand the evil one? Who on earth has ever been able to hold the gift of eternal life in their hands and to offer it to all who would want it?

Well, to all of these questions, we can say that there is no one on this earth who has been able to do any of these things except Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour – the perfect man in the eyes of God, without sin, and who gave His life for all of mankind. But not only did He lay His life down, but He took it up again and rose from the grave and is now seated at the right hand of the Father.

But this is not the end of the story. Rather, how amazing is it that if we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour, the very spirit of Christ comes to abide in us and us in Him. We too are now risen with Christ and, in and through Him, are seated in heavenly places, right at the throne of Grace and Mercy.

So if God has graciously allowed us to be seated at the Father’s right hand in and through Jesus, if we have been made kings and priests through our saviour, let us then be more than conquerors in this life we have been ordained to live on this earth: a life which can bring forth much fruit to the glory of God; A life which now reflects that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us and who has won the victory on our behalf.

Today, don’t cower or crumble under your circumstance trial or tribulation. Simply set your heart and mind on those things which are above and know this one thing; that which is not possible with man, is possible with God. Pray without ceasing, for the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: (1 Peter 3:12 )

1 Corinthians 15:55

ODAAT – More than conquerors

Romans 8:37

Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

Who on this earth has ever conquered death? Who on earth has ever overcome the grave? Who on this earth has ever been able to withstand the evil one? Who on earth has been able to hold the gift of eternal life in their hands and to offer it to all who would want it?

Well, to all of these questions, we can say that there is no one on this earth who has been able to do any of these things except Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour – the perfect man in the eyes of God, without sin, and who gave His life for all of mankind. We too are now risen with Christ and, in and through Him, are seated in heavenly places, right at the throne of Grace and Mercy; death no longer has a hold on us; we are now a new creation and have been lovingly afforded eternal life, and all at the cost of Jesus laying down His own life.

So if God has graciously allowed us to be seated at the Father’s right hand in and through Jesus, if we have been made kings and priests through our Saviour, let us then be more than conquerors in this life we have been ordained to live on earth: a life which should bring forth much fruit to the glory of God.

Let us never forget that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us and who has won the victory on our behalf. Today, don’t cower or crumble under your circumstance, trial or tribulation. Simply set your heart and mind on those things which are above and know this one thing, that which is not possible with man, is possible with God.

** Hear me O Lord, hear me
————————————————————
————————————————————

** 1 Kings 18:37-39
————————————————————

** “Hear me, O LORD, hear me, that this people may know that thou art the LORD God, and that thou hast turned their heart back again. Then the fire of the LORD fell, and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench. And when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces: and they said, The LORD, he is the God; the LORD, he is the God..”
————————————————————
————————————————————

There stood Elijah before the crowd of onlookers, including 450 prophets of Baal and another 400 prophets from around the countryside. Imagine standing alone before 850 false prophets who were whipping themselves up into an absolute frenzy, making a spectacle of themselves by shouting and cutting themselves till the blood flowed. It must have been quite intimidating!
But Elijah trusted in God and offered up a simple and most humble prayer of intercession and request; not demanding of God for His own benefit, but humbly requesting of God on behalf of and for the benefit of those who were caught up in deception, lies and idol worship.

I can’t say what you might have prayed in this situation, but, in all honesty, I am sure my prayer would have been something like; ‘please don’t let me die Lord, please deliver me from this situation so that I can carry on living my life, I don’t need this trouble Lord, please take this situation away from me.’

However, Elijah didn’t focus on himself as he simply prayed, “Hear me, O LORD, hear me, that this people may know that thou art the LORD God, and that thou hast turned their heart back again.” Elijah was seeking first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; knowing and trusting that all these things would be added unto him according to the perfect will and purpose of God (Mth 6:33).

Elijah’s cry echoed the true intents and desires of his heart; not to be miraculously pulled out of the situation, but for God to miraculously use the situation for His glory and to the benefit of those with hardened, deceived and unbelieving hearts.

So today, let us not think that the trials and tribulations we must face in life are for a worthless cause. Whilst many times we may feel as if we are standing alone in the midst of great onslaught in our lives, I pray that we each will know and believe that God will never leave us nor forsake us and that He wants to fulfil all the good pleasure of his goodness and the work of faith with power in our lives (2 Thes 1:11); not that we may have a trouble free life, but that others may know He is God and that He would count us worthy of His calling in Christ Jesus.

When it seems that there is much against us, when it seems that everything is closing in on us, that our backs are up against the wall, when it seems that there is no hope, may we be reminded of Romans 8:31, which says, “What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?”

In these times of great testing, may our prayer be, “Hear me, O LORD, hear me, that this people may know that thou art the LORD God, and that thou hast turned their heart back again.”
————————————————————

Prayer for today:
My Father in heaven, I pray today that whatever trial or storm it is that You would want to lead me through for Your glory, that I would not be gripped by anxiety, despondency, worry or fear; but that I might be still and know that You are God; and that You are in complete control in all areas of my life, working all things together for good to them that love You, to them who are the called according to Your purpose. Please my Lord, give me that peace which is beyond my understanding; and use me for Your glory I pray; in the wonderful and all powerful name of Jesus my Saviour. AMEN

ODAAT – Our daily bread

** Our daily bread
————————————————————
————————————————————

** Luke 11:2-3
————————————————————

** “And he said unto them, When you pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth. Give us this day our daily bread.”
————————————————————
————————————————————

We so often say the words of the Lord’s prayer, but do we actually mean them? We say, “Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth”; but do we truly mean it? We say, “Give us this day our daily bread”; but do we truly mean it?

1 Timothy 6 says that godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and clothing, let us be content with that. But this is where we so often leave these verses. We read them, quote them, but often battle to live them.

In fact the systems of this world are not about daily bread but all about striving to own the bakery or building up enough bread to last a life time. And those with the most bread and bakeries are considered as idols and very successful. People buy their books, watch their stories and videos and go to great lengths in trying to emulate them in order to achieve similar status, position and power. But the Lord’s prayer simply says, “Give us this day our daily bread.”

You see, Jesus is our daily bread and He will provide for us every single day until he takes us to be with him. He will never let us down. He will never leave us nor forsake us. In fact Jesus Himself said, “take no thought for your life, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, With what shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knows that you have need of all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added to you.”

So what is it we are actually striving for on this earth? What is it we are worrying about on this earth? What is it we are seeking on this earth?

May we each be encouraged to wait on the Lord and trust solely in Him today; leaning not on our own understanding but looking only to Him for the provision of our daily bread. Jesus has told us that our Father in heaven cares for us and knows what we need; and that He will supply all our need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19).

Let us not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let us make our requests known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard our hearts and our minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:6-7).
————————————————————

Additional scriptures for reading:
1 Timothy 6:6-10
6But godliness with contentment is great gain. 7For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. 8And having food and raiment let us be therewith content. 9But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. 10For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

Matthe 6
25Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? 26Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? 27Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? 28And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: 29And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? 31Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? 32(For after all these things do the
Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. 33But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

34Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

** When things get tough, look up
————————————————————
————————————————————

** Exodus 5:2
————————————————————

** And Pharaoh said, “Who is the Lord, that I should obey His voice to let Israel go? I do not know the Lord, nor will I let Israel go.”
————————————————————
————————————————————

Moses and Aaron had gone to Pharaoh saying, “Thus says the Lord God of Israel: ‘Let My people go, that they may hold a feast to Me in the wilderness.’” But Pharaoh refused. Instead he removed resources from them and expected the same quota of bricks from them for building. And he laid more work on the men, that they may labor in it.

The taskmasters forced them to hurry, saying, “Fulfill your work, your daily quota, as when there was straw.” Those heading up the children of Israel were beaten and asked, “Why have you not fulfilled your task in making brick both yesterday and today, as before?

Ánd when they complained that it was not possible to continue producing the same amounts under such pressure, Pharaoh said, “You are idle! Idle! Therefore you say, ‘Let us go and sacrifice to the Lord.’ Therefore go now and work; for no straw shall be given you, yet you shall deliver the quota of bricks.”

Today we are experiencing much the same as the children of Israel. We see the systems of this world pressing down and demanding everything in the workplace. Shareholder value has overridden grace and mercy. Profiteering, greed and corruption are the new whips on the people’s backs.

There is no longer any respect given as hours become longer and resources less in order to produce more profit for those in control. More and more work is being laid on men and women. More and more we see taskmasters simply swallowing up the needy and trampling on the poor, making them fail to even survive. Sundays are no longer a day of rest but in fact one of the biggest trading days to make money.

This world is shouting loudly, “Who is the Lord, that we should obey His voice to let you go? We do not know the Lord, nor will we let you go.”

But we know that we have been saved by grace and that this world is not our home. Like Abraham, we are just pilgrims on this land, passing through. We are looking to that city whose builder and maker is God.

So take courage today my brothers and sisters in Christ because we have a hope; and that hope is in Jesus Christ who will soon return to collect the saints of God. So let us encourage, exhort and comfort one another in these times. And let us hold fast the profession of our faith as we shine the light of Christ in a depraved generation; despite the pressing times, despite the unrealistic expectations of this world, and despite the demands and the chaos and corruption that surround us.

Let us be confident of this very thing, that he which has begun a good work in us will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ. Today, let us lift up our heads, for our redemption draws nigh.

Isaiah 41:10 – Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed ; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

Luke 21:20, 26
And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh.
Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.

Hebrews 11:13-16
13These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. 14For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country. 15And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned. 16But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.

1 Corinthians 1:8
Who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Jesus was in Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as His custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up to read from the book of Isaiah, saying, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, to preach the acceptable year of the Lord. (Luke 4:18-19).

Consider these most profound words of Jesus for a moment.

Sadly, we who know Christ are often too busy with our own lives to witness the countless people who are spiritually destitute and dying, the ever growing number of those who are brokenhearted and without hope, the millions who are spiritually captive or blind with no way out, and the so very many who are just battered and bruised by this world – just as each of us were when Jesus found us along the road; stripped of our dignity, wounded in our hearts and minds and half dead spiritually – from the savageness of the evil one, the thief, who comes only to steal and kill and destroy.

But Jesus came that we may have life, and have it more abundantly. He reached out His hand, touched our hearts and minds, took up residence deep within our spirit and healed our soul, making us a new man in and through Him and the power of His resurrection.

May we not be counted amongst those who are too busy to do the will of our Father in heaven. Our Father takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked and would have that none should perish but that all would come to repentance and gain everlasting life through His Son. The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few.

So today, despite what may be coming against us, let us do all things without murmuring and complaining. Let us look around and ask of the Lord that He would send each one of us into His harvest (in our homes, our workplace, our communities), that we may share the true love of God and preach the name of Jesus to a hurting, dying and perverse generation; shining as lights in the world; boldly and lovingly holding out the word of life, peace and truth.

Brothers and sister in Christ, the sick and dying are crying out for the Master Physician. Let us count it a joy set before us to introduce them to Jesus and to do the will of our Father who has graciously and mercifully raised us from the dead in and through His Son; Jesus Christ our King of Kings.

Matthew 5
13Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. 14Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. 15Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. 16Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

** The gentle calling of God
————————————————————
————————————————————

** Psalm 18:35
————————————————————

** “Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy right hand hath holden me up, and thy gentleness hath made me great.”
————————————————————
————————————————————

The world is full of excess, extremes and selfish pride. There is very little evidence of gentleness meekness and moderation in the world today. Everyone is for themselves, shouting out, “more riches, more possessions, more status, more excess, more self satisfaction, more fame, more idolising things, people and materialism”. People lie, cheat, steal, murder, betray and walk all over one another just to get ahead, just to get the big deal, just to get one shot at being famous, and on and on.

But, know today, God is calling to each of us in a still small voice. He is calling us into gentleness; that gentleness through which God has shown the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us through Christ Jesus, who now abides in us and us in Him; that gentleness which has seen God’s grace and mercy extended to mankind over and over and over again, by which we today can cry out ‘Abba Father’.

We may think that life is unfair and we may ask why we have to put up with all that we have to in life. But the longsuffering of God is displayed in His gentle calling of man; He would have that none should perish. You see there will come a time when God will say now is the time, and when all will see the full extent of the power of God and of the true and fair justice of God.

God is a just God and a fair God and He has been longsuffering with man since the dawn of time. But the end is drawing near and God is gently calling, saying ‘come to me, harden not your hearts, accept my love, let your gentleness be evident to all; look, I have made a way for you in the wilderness, a way which leads to eternal life.’

Today, may we steadfastly show forth the love and mercy of God to others and may we extend the Word of truth to all that we come into contact with so that they too may have the opportunity to experience the grace, the mercy, the love, the longsuffering and the gentleness of God in their lives.

** True love never fails
————————————————————
————————————————————

** 1 Corinthians 13:8
————————————————————

** “Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away.”
————————————————————
————————————————————

Many in this world may say they know love, or may say ‘I love you’, but in reality, it is not possible to know true love outside of knowing God; for God is love. And herein is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us, and sent His Son to be the atonement for our sins.

Because we were born into corruption, we were not able to know true love. But God, who is rich in mercy and grace, manifest His love toward us and sent his only Son into the world, that we might be able to live through Him and experience what it is to know true and eternal love.

Now we love Him, only because He first loved us and gave us a way to love Him back; that way being through His Son Jesus Christ alone. And when we act and live in and through the love of God, we are living in God and God in us, through the very spirit and nature of Christ.

Today, while everything around us may be failing, know this one thing, Jesus Christ, the true love of God, will never fail, never! May we each be encouraged to be strong and of good courage. Let us not fear nor be afraid of what man can do to us: for the LORD our God, He it is that goes before and with us; He will never fail us, and He will never forsake us (Deuteronomy 31:6).

So let us each bow our knee to the great ‘I AM’ today; and let us rejoice, giving all praise and thanks to our Father in heaven for His unfailing love which He has freely given to us through His Son.

Additional scriptures for reading:
Hebrews 13:5.
Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

Romans 5:8
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Romans 8:38-39
38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

1 John 4:7-21
7Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. 8He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. 9In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. 10Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 11Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another. 12No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us. 13Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit. 14And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world.

15Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God. 16And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. 17Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world. 18There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. 19We love him, because he first loved us. 20If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? 21And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.

** To know God is to love
————————————————————
————————————————————

** 1 John 4:8
————————————————————

** “He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.”
————————————————————
————————————————————

The world is full of envy, jealousy and hatred. But God is love; and to know God means we are to truly know, experience and express the love of Christ who abides in us and us in Him.

1 Corinthians 13 paints a clear picture of this love which can only be found in Christ Jesus. It says that love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, and always perseveres. It also says that “Love never fails”, because Jesus can never and will never fail; he has won the battle, He is forever victorious; and His spirit abides in us!

So, is the true love of Christ evident in each one of our lives every day? Is it evident in our marriages, in our homes, in our local assembly and in our workplace and social circles? Sadly, many times the answer to this is no. We see broken marriages, broken homes, judging, bickering and gossipping in the church, and people acting very differently in the workplace and social circles to how they are on a Sunday morning.

One of the biggest hurdles to experiencing the true love God is ourselves. We are often our own worst enemy when it comes to experiencing and showing the true love of God. Many times we are unhappy with how we look, where we live, what job we have, what car we drive or that we don’t get the lucky breaks or get to be important, well known, or well respected.

You see, knowing the true love of God is not about what we are in this world, but about accepting that God has made us to be who we are for His purpose, and made us His own children. Through His Son, we are made a temple for the very living spirit of God. Is this not just the greatest honour, privilege and calling? Is this not higher and more than anything this world has to offer?

So today, will we accept who we are in Christ Jesus? Will we be happy with who God has made us and with how we look? Will we be happy with where God has placed in this life to be His witnesses? And will we be happy that the true love of God actually abides in us and is not reliant on any external stimuli but only on surrendering our all to experience Christ in us, our hope of glory, that is, true love.

Additional scriptures for reading:
Luke 6:35
But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.

John 1:12-13
But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

Colossians 3:12-24
12 Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;
13 Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.
14 And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.
15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.
16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
18 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord.
19 Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them.
20 Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord.
21 Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged.
22 Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God;
23 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;
24 Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.
