Fear not, for I am thy God
“Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.”
Not only are we set free from sin and bondage in and through Christ Jesus, but when our lives are hid in Him we need no longer fear and we need no longer be dismayed. This is such a wonderful scripture on which to meditate as it says, ‘For I am thy God; I will strengthen you; yes, I will help you; yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness.’
O how easily we allow these word of our Father in heaven to be far from us when we face trial and tribulation in our lives. We often forget or dismiss all that the Word of God says as we worry and fret over that which seems to be overwhelming us in life or that which seems impossible for us to work out in our own minds.
But, no matter what we are facing, may we not fear and may we not be dismayed as we place our trust in our almighty God. If He has given us His Word, then we must believe it. If He has said he will never leave us nor forsake us, then we must believe it. If He has said He will strengthen, help and uphold us, then we must believe it.
Today, may we stand firmly and only on the truth of the Word of God as we trust completely in Him for our sustenance, our strength and our help.
Psalm 118:6 – “The LORD is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me?”
Additional scriptures for reading:
1 John 4:18
There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.
2 Timothy 1:7
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.
And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?
Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.
But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.
Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
